Winners in Exchange Bank Kite Contest

A total of 56 boys and girls took part in the annual Kite Contest sponsored by the Exchange Bank of St. Augustine and conducted by the City Recreation Department Saturday afternoon on the Fort Green. Richard Holman, vice-president of the Exchange Bank, presented awards to the winners at the completion of the contest. Judges were Mrs. Gene Hurley, Roy Barnes Jr. and Oliver Lawton.

The winners, pictured above are, kneeling, Ronnie Fehr, a Den 1 Cub Scout, Den 1 entered the best all around kite competition and won. They are from pack 243; Bob-by Eutsler, 1st place, altitude; Nancy Vanderbent, 2nd place altitude, Miriam Cox, 3rd place altitude; Clayton Acosta, member of Cub Scout Den 1 Craig Wyrich, also a Den 1 member; Gus Craig Jr. 2nd place most unique; and Bill Smith, 3rd place best decorated.

Standing, left to right, the winners including Randy Robshaw, 2nd place best decorated kit; Lamar Powers, 1st prize most unique kite; Bobby Lukas, 1st place best decorated kite; Tommy Creedon and Michael Salvador, who had the largest kite entered in the contest. Randy Robshaw also won first place in the box kite division and Den 3, pack 67 won second place best all-round prize.
